Before the cost got completely out of control around here in the last couple of years, I still enjoyed taking photos on 35mm film. One of the film cameras in my collection that I really liked using was my Fotodiox Twin Lens Reflex camera, which I built from a kit.

I hit the 100 LaserDiscs milestone!
It has taken quite a while for me to reach it, but today I finally hit the 100 mark for the number of LaserDiscs in our movie library! Archiving my library of MP4s
This project has been a sort of hobby within a hobby. For the past year, I’ve been slowly working on backing up our library of digitally recorded movies, stored on several USB mass storage devices, to DVD-R in the event that one of these devices ever fails on us.

Using Aliases in Linux
Earlier, I talked about how using the command line in Linux can save a lot of time and effort in your day to day computing tasks. But, there’s a very powerful function in Linux, called “alias”, that can save you even more time and effort.
